Ride A Fish Rays Egg Mutation: How to Recognize It

Rays is a mutation label that can appear on a carried egg during rain in Ride A Fish. Look for a mutation notification naming your egg and a Rays label in the carry basket. A Coral Egg can display this change after a lightning strike.

Keep heading back to your aquarium: the egg's carry countdown continues after it gains Rays. If the timer reaches zero before you deliver it, the egg returns to its spot and your basket becomes empty.

How to recognize a Rays egg

Check the notification and your carry basket together:

• The message names the egg. For a Coral Egg, the mutation notification reads "Your Coral Egg was mutated: RAYS!"
• The basket shows Rays. Read the label on the egg you are carrying to confirm the change.
• The carry countdown is still running. Use that deadline to judge how much time you have left to reach your aquarium.

Deliver the egg before the timer expires

1. Turn toward your own aquarium as soon as you have the egg. Keep moving along your return route when the Rays label appears.
2. Watch the egg's carry countdown. The separate weather timer tells you about the weather, not your delivery deadline.
3. Reach an available Egg Box while the egg is still in your basket. Use the Place Egg prompt to put it into the box. The egg delivery guide explains the return and placement steps.

If you see "Time is up. The egg returned to its spot" and the basket is empty, that delivery attempt has ended. Head back out to find another egg using the egg hunting guide.

Hatch the egg after delivery
