Ride A Fish How to Hatch Eggs: Egg Box, Growth, Hatch
The recorded Ride A Fish hatch sequence: place a carried egg in an Egg Box at your own aquarium, wait out its growth countdown to Ready to Hatch, then use Hatch to add the fish to your aquarium.
Hatching an egg in Ride A Fish takes three moves: Place Egg in an Egg Box at your own aquarium, let the placed egg finish its growth countdown, then use the separate Hatch prompt once the egg is Ready to Hatch. The new fish appears on a result card and goes directly into your aquarium.
Two details matter before you start. The recorded interface uses Indonesian labels with PC-style E prompts — Tempatkan Telur (Place Egg) and Menetas (Hatch) — so on touch or mobile, use the interaction your own device currently shows rather than a memorized key. And the game has two different egg timers; the walkthrough below keeps them apart.
Place the carried egg into an Egg Box
This walkthrough picks up once an egg is in your hands — how to find eggs covers the search itself.
- Return to your own aquarium. Placement only works at your own base. One recorded session shows the prompt failing at another player's aquarium — "Not our aquarium... No wonder I couldn't place it" — and working the moment the player reached their own. How to deliver eggs covers the trip home.
- Approach an available Egg Box or nest.
- Activate Place Egg — recorded on PC as E with the label Tempatkan Telur. While you are carrying an egg, Place Egg and DROP EGG are separate controls, and the hatch process needs Place Egg.
- Confirm placement. The success signal is clear: the egg appears in the nest and the tutorial shifts to waiting for the hatch.
Placing does not hatch the fish immediately — it starts the growth stage.

Egg growth versus the carry timer
The main timing trap is treating two different timers as one:
- The carry timer (transport warning) runs while the egg is in your hands on the way home. If it expires before you arrive, that delivery attempt did not complete — the egg break timer guide covers that timer.
- The growth countdown belongs to an egg already placed in an Egg Box. It runs from placement until the egg is ready to hatch.
A number you see on one egg is not a rule for all eggs. Recorded growth times range widely:
| Recorded egg | Countdown shown after placement |
|---|---|
| Guided tutorial egg (first hatch) | Seconds — "Let's see, 4 seconds. 2 seconds. There, ready to hatch." |
| A "strange egg" in one hunter's session | "2 hours to hatch?" |
| Later eggs in the same session | 1 minute, 4 minutes, and 6 and a half minutes on different eggs |
| A late-game egg in that session | About 8 hours |
| A first-episode hatch in a Thai video | 2 hours 40 minutes, as the player states |
Each row is a single observed instance, so the only countdown that matters for your egg is the one displayed on it. For the eggs themselves rather than the process, see the egg list.
Use Hatch at the ready state
When growth completes, the egg's label changes to SIAP MENETAS — Indonesian for Ready to Hatch — and the Hatch interaction becomes available.
- Activate Hatch — recorded on PC as E with the label Menetas.
- Read the fish result card that appears. The tutorial states the hatched fish goes directly into your aquarium.
- Confirm the result card rather than relying on a click alone: the changed prompt, the egg visible in the nest, the ready label and the fish result are separate confirmations. If an interaction doesn't go through, read the on-screen message before deciding you need a purchase or an upgrade.
Find the resulting fish in the aquarium
The hatch ends in your aquarium, not your hand. A recorded hatch shows the new fish joining the aquarium panel with fish cards plus Feed and Unequip controls. Observed results are single outcomes: a Mackerel labeled Common from the guided tutorial egg, an Uncommon Grouper from a Tidal Egg in a developer recording, plus a sea tilapia and a seahorse in creator videos. A weight or rarity label on one result card describes that fish instance — not a species-wide drop table.
The recordings also don't show a fresh hatch landing in your hotbar automatically — the tutorial's hotbar fish already existed before a later hatch. To ride what you just hatched, equip it first with how to equip fish, then compare your catch against the fish list.
Skip Growth — known control and unverified cost
While a placed egg is still growing, a separate Skip Growth prompt is visible. What is established:
- It is not the final Hatch action. Skip Growth appears during the growth stage; Hatch appears only once the egg shows SIAP MENETAS.
- No skip price or purchase requirement is established. One gameplay video contains a passing "20 Robux" remark near a hatch, but it is too ambiguous to attribute to this control — don't treat any number as the cost until your own prompt shows one.
- Whether skipping changes the hatch result is not established either.
If you want the fish sooner, open the prompt in your own session and read the actual offer before confirming.
