Ride A Fish Aquarium Guide: Find and Manage Your Fish Roster

Where hatched fish go in Ride A Fish, what the aquarium fish panel shows, and what the Feed and Unequip controls do — plus the recorded path from roster to ride.

In Ride A Fish, every fish you hatch ends up in one place: your personal aquarium near the SafeZone. This guide walks through the aquarium's fish panel — where it appears, what each roster entry displays, what its two recorded controls do, and how a fish goes from the roster to a ride.

What the personal aquarium does

The aquarium is your fish's home base, and it handles three jobs in one spot:

  • It keeps hatched fish. Hatch results enter the aquarium directly — more on that below.
  • It grows and earns. The tutorial states aquarium fish produce coins over time, and the green Feed button targets a fish's growth.
  • It stages your rides. A fish living in the aquarium goes out through the panel before it can be equipped and ridden.

Your aquarium sits near the SafeZone, with the Egg Box area inside it; the first-hatch tutorial directs you back there before you hunt farther out. It is yours alone. In one recorded session, egg placement repeatedly fails at another player's aquarium ("this isn't ours... Not our aquarium") and works the moment the player reaches their own — so return to your own bay for anything aquarium-related.

The fish panel itself appears on the right side of the screen while you are near your own yellow aquarium. The reviewed recordings show no separate button or key that opens it; the panel is simply there when you are close to your aquarium.

Find the fish roster and read its entries

The roster has two layers: an occupancy count at the top and one card per fish. Locate the fish you want by its name and card before you act on anything.

Each card displays five things: the fish's name, its age, its weight, its EXP progress and a coin-per-second label. One recorded account showed Mackerel, Clownfish and Sea Tilapia cards side by side at a 5/5 count, and one recorded seahorse card displayed 3,440 per second.

Keep the readings separate, because each describes something different:

Panel displayWhat it tells youWhat it does not prove
Occupancy count (recorded 2/5, later 5/5)How many fish your panel currently holdsThat five is a permanent cap or that extra slots can be bought
Age and weight on a cardThat fish's recorded age and displayed weightA species-wide weight or size rule
EXP progressOne fish's growth progressWhat every feeding action returns
Coins/s labelThe income displayed for that fish at that momentA species income ranking or a link to riding speed

The panel also shows an Equip Best button. Its selection rule was not tested in the reviewed footage, so when two fish could serve the same route, choose deliberately from the roster rather than trusting the button.

About that occupancy number: one recorded account read 2/5 on an early visit and 5/5 after later hatches. That is one player's visible state — the footage does not establish five as a permanent cap, what happens at full occupancy, or a purchase path for more slots, and other sessions report different counts. Capacity questions get their own treatment in the aquarium slots guide.

Feed, unequip and manage fish

Every fish row carries two recorded controls:

  • Feed (green button). This targets growth inside the aquarium. In one recorded use, a notification announced +1,000 EXP added to a named Snapper. Treat that as a single result, not a rule — it does not define what every food does or what food currently costs. Note the fish's EXP and age before feeding so you can attribute the change to that feed. The full food-buying and feeding procedure lives in the feeding guide.
  • Unequip (red button, labeled "Lepaskan Perlengkapan" in the recorded Indonesian interface). This moves that fish into your inventory. The recorded result: a transfer notification naming the Pipefish while occupancy dropped from 4/5 to 3/5 — the fish is transferred, not deleted.

Unequip is also how you decide which fish remain inside: take out the fish you want to ride or hold, and the rest stay. One caution before you press it — the reviewed guides show no control that returns an unequipped fish from inventory to the aquarium, so unequip a fish because you intend to use it.

Don't confuse the neighboring actions: Unequip moves an aquarium fish to inventory, Feed is the growth button beside it, and Dismount is the red control that appears only while riding.

Egg Box and income touchpoints

Hatching ends at the aquarium. The loop: collect an egg underwater, carry it back to your own aquarium, place it in the Egg Box, wait until it reads Ready to Hatch, then activate the Hatch interaction — the recorded PC prompt is E, with "Menetas" in the Indonesian interface. The fish result enters the aquarium directly: one reviewed recording shows a "Mackerel has been added" message while the panel reads 5/5, and other recorded sessions likewise find the new fish already inside the aquarium.

Newly hatched fish are not shown moving to your hotbar automatically, so confirm the fish's name and card in the panel before assuming it is in hand. Finding eggs is covered in the egg-finding guide, and the full hatch walkthrough is in the egg hatching guide.

On income: the tutorial says aquarium fish produce coins over time, and the Coins/s label on each card is the income displayed for that recorded fish at that moment. The reviewed panel establishes no species ranking and no income-to-speed rule; the coins per second guide follows the income topic further.

From the roster to a ride

For a fish still living in your aquarium, the recorded route to an active ride is:

  1. Return to your own aquarium and find the fish by name and card in the panel. Success check: the intended fish is visible in the list.
  2. Press Unequip on its row. Success check: a transfer notification names the fish and the occupancy count drops by one.
  3. Open the backpack beside the hotbar and select the fish's card.
  4. Equip only if needed. If selecting the card already leaves your avatar holding the fish, head for the sea; otherwise click its hotbar card to equip it first.
  5. Confirm the ride before moving off. Your avatar should be seated on the fish and the red Dismount control should be visible.

The reviewed footage shows this chain ending with a mounted Pipefish. It does not show an automatic proximity mount or establish universal speed numbers — if "which fish is fastest?" is your real question, the panel cannot answer it; a same-route comparison is the reliable way to find out.
